• Arthur Cox was born on 11 December 1910 in Queensland.

• On 12 February 1930 the "Worker" Brisbane reported that "Arthur Cox, of Crow's Nest, when attending to a vat of hot tallow at the slaughter' yards, lost his balance and fell in. He managed to get out again and walk half a mile to his home. He was taken to hospital suffering from severe scalds and shock" . Later reports indicate he received severe burns and was in a critical condition. He was employed by Mr F T Gleeson, butcher.
