He listed his next of kin as ES Holdaway (record shows ESH Idaway), his father of Ballance.²

     Eva Aroha Holdaway was born on 17 December 1888 in Richmond, NEW ZEALAND.^1,2 She was the daughter of Albert Arthur Ernest Holdaway and Elizabeth Edwards.^1,2 Eva Aroha Holdaway immigrated between 1899 and 1901 to Victoria, AUSTRALIA. Their children Eva, Isabella, May and Arthur travelled with them. Two more children were born in Australia, Gordon James in Richmond and Allan Aston in Adelaide before they returned to New Zealand where their eight and last child Winifred was born in 1908. Following Albert's death in 1913 it appears Agnes and all of the children returned to Australia.
