"Johann and Eva Wolski, who were originally of Polish descent, became German citizens owing to the capture of part of Poland during a War between those two countries.
In the year 1885 the couple and their family migrated to Australia and first lived at Highfields for about fifteen months. They then selected 160 acres of land at Djuan where they lived for the rest of their lives. The four children of the family were all born in Germany - Wilhelm, Gottfried, Heinrich and Earnestina.

Wilhelm, who married Caralone Morgenstern before coming to this country selected land at Upper Djuan and engaged in farming including dairying, pig raising, maize, wheat and potato growing. They reared a family of five boys and five girls.

Gottfried Wolski who was married at Douglas to Elsie Morgenstern carried on the property previously selected by his father and engaged in the same type of farming as his elder brother, this being the main industries in those days. They raised a family of five boys and three girls.

Heinrich was married to Lena Schilf of Haden and settled on land adjacent to his father where he also carried on similar lines as his two brothers. They raised a family of seven boys and three girls.

Earnestina was married to Gustav Graf before coming to this country
and also lived in the Djuan area.

The total descendants of the original couple of Johann and Eva Wolski would be approximately 376 and are engaged in a wide range of occupations in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. The majority were keen sportsmen particularly tennis, cricket, and football and table-tennis.
    R. Wolski"

NOTE:- There are a few errors in the above - Johann and Eva arrived in 1888 not 1885; Ernestina married Gustav Graf in 1891 in Queensland not in Germany.
