One of the oldest identities of Crows Nest in the person of Mrs Edward Brown (Margaret) passed away at her home on Sunday (writes our Crows Nest correspondent). She was born in County Armagh, Ireland 85 years ago and was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Boden. She came to Queensland over 60 years ago and was married to Mr Edward Brown in Toowoomba shortly afterwards. She had lived in and around Crows Nest ever since. They were to have celebrated their diamond wedding this year. Her kindly and gentle nature endeared her to the hearts of all, and the older residents of the district speak in glowing terms of the many thoughtful acts of Mrs. Brown, in the old pioneering days. She leaves to mourn their loss a husband and five sons, Messrs. J.R.W. Brown (West Australia) Thomas (Brisbane) H. Brown (Wondai), S Brown (Kilburnie) E. Brown (Highfields) and two daughters Mrs Chas Brewer (Pinelands) and Mrs James Gibbs (Crows Nest) one daughter, Mrs Margaret Hess died a few years ago.
