  • At the age of 26 years, 5 months and 25 days, Claud Cronk married Elizabeth Sarah Cummings on 28 September 1870 in South Brisbane, Queensland.
  • In March 1877, Claud Cronk enrolled his son Joseph Cronk in the Crow's Nest Provisional School. Joseph's sister Alice 1, and Joseph 5 were listed as future students for the proposed school but, according to the book, 125th Anniversary of Crow's Nest State School, it was a Claud Cronk who started at the new school. This may be an error and should have been Joseph. The teacher was William Jenkinson who was untrained and had to cope with an under-equipped school. There were no blackboards, slates, books etc. He left a few months later and was replaced by David Moylan.
  • Claud Cronk was a creditor of the insolvent estate of Cameron and Hebbel. A meeting of creditors in the insolvent estate of John Cameron and John Heinrich Hebbel trading as timber merchants of Toowoomba took place in Toowoomba. Amongst the creditors were Thomas Cullen £10 3s 4d, Thomas Brennan £39; H A Shum £34; Claud Cronk 44; George Parton £22.
  • He and Elizabeth Sarah Cummings appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1903 living at Crow's Nest. Claud was a farmer. His son, also Claud, was a teamster in the Crow's Nest district.
  • Claud Cronk died on 25 September 1926 in Pechey, Queensland, at age 82.
  • He was buried on 26 September 1926 in Crow's Nest Cemetery.
  • On 14 October 1926 Claud Cronk's obituary appeared in The Daily News. It read:- "CROW'S NEST, Wednesday— Claud Cronk, who dies! nt the age of 86 years, was born in Englnhd, and came to Queensland wlth his parents in 1848. He started life in Brisbane as a carter, aud proceeded to Gympie when the gold rush broke out. Later he was engaged in horse-droving in the Western district. In 1870 he was married to Miss Cumnungs, only daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. Cummings, of Lappgate Grove,England. He then went to Toowoomba, and later, to Pechey. He selected land
    at Cooby Creek, where he resided until his death. He leaves a widow, three sons and five daughters."

The first head teacher was Thomas Walls and the School Committee consisted of Joseph Cossart (Secretary - his eldest child was only four at the time), Alf Bidgood, John Hebbel, James and John McQuillan.
    The following year Alice Brown, Joseph Cronk, John Brown, Edward Brown, Alice Cronk, Minnie Humberdross, Emma Humberdross and John Kynoch were enrolled.
  • He appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1903 living at Djuan. He was a teamster.
  • At the age of 33 years, 10 months and 15 days, Joseph Cronk married Bertha Johanna Rohde, daughter of Martin Rohde and Helene (Lena) Vohland, on 25 April 1905 in Toowoomba, Queensland.
  • Joseph Cronk died on 15 February 1919 in Queensland at age 47.
  • He was buried in Crow's Nest Cemetery. He is buried next to his father Claud.

  • On 18 July 1905 William had a horse riding accident. The Brisbane Courier reported:- " While William Cronk was mustering bullocks this morning his horse fell and rolled on him, causing serious injuries. He is now unconscious, and is being conveyed by road to Toowoomba. The Ambulance has been wired for to meet him. The Ambulance Brigade met Cronk two miles from Crow's Nest, and rendered first aid. He was found to he suffering from severe internal injuries and haemorrhage, and an injury to his left shoulder. Cronk was conveyed by the brigade to the Toowoomba Hospital-upwards of thirty miles. He was reported to-night to be in a critical condition.
  • At the age of 28 years, William Cronk married Johanna (Sophie) Anger, daughter of Rev Charles Augustus (Carl) Anger and Salome Hirning, on 1 July 1908 in Toowoomba, Queensland.
