Jack also worked for the Broadfoot family as their overseer. The family of four girls lived in the Broadfoot home at Kooralgin until they moved into Yarraman in 1939.
    They had four daughters, all born in Toowoomba.
  • In the early part of the 1925's Ida Miller went to work for a Broadfoot family at Kooralgin, as their housekeeper. This may have been Thomas and Amanda's family as the mill at Djuan closed around 1914. Ida would have been known to the Broadfoot family as she grew up at Emu Creek not far from the Djuan Mill. --- Thomas Broadfoot.

He also lived at Perseverance and gave his occupation as a farmer. In 1919 he was admitted to hospital in England suffering from pleurisy. Most of his time overseas was spent ill in hospital. He was sent to France in January 1919. He returned to Australia in April 1919.
  • Between 1924 and 1941 John was living at Nickinbah, Maryborough.
  • Johann Otto Muller died on 18 June 1981 in Queensland at age 91.

  • Wilhelm (August) Albert Muller was born on 22 March 1837 in Brussow, Prussia. He was the son of Daniel Muller and Charlotte Ucohms.
  • At the age of 26 years, 10 months and 7 days, Wilhelm (August) Albert Muller married Maria (Christine) Louisa Wieland on 29 January 1864 in Queensland.
  • In 1873 the family were living at Rosewood Scrub where August had selected 100 acres of land part of which he had cleared to grow cotton. His brother in law Frederick Wieland also lived in the area.
  • In 1887 in March 1887 the family were living on a farm on Western Creek near Grahtham. That year August was awarded £5 cash and a £5 order for goods due to his losses in a recent flood. August sold this property (portions 117 and 126) in 1891, perhaps to move to Ravensbourne.

Shum, well known residents, was killed in a painfully tragic manner (writes a Crow's Nest representative). The wee maiden, who was only six years of age, was playing with: some other children about the sawmill yards, when a tog rolled and, passing over the child, crushed out the little life instantaneously. The utmost sympathy is felt for, the family. The funeral took place this afternoon, at Cabarluh. A remarkable sequel to the sad event was reported later, when a boy named William Muller, whilst riding to the funeral of the little girl, had his pony fall with him, whereby he sustained a fractured arm and'some other bruises. The lad was conveyed to. Crow's Nest, where Dr. Henderson set the injured limb"

Muller, of Fraser View, the contracting parties being Miss Annie Muller, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Muller, and Mr. Sydney Shum fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Shum. The Rev. C. Hof, pastor of the Evangelist Lutheran Church, officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a dress of ivory silk, with overdress of net lace; tunic skirt, blouse of cross-over effect. lovely white ribbon belt, streamers V-shape over left hip, caught at the knee with horseshoe, and orange blossoms, V-shaped yoke of silk embossed lace finished with pearls, and a wreath of orange blossoms completed the handsome costume. The bride, who carried a bouquet of white flowers, with asparagus ferns, was attended by her cousin, Miss Sophie Richter, who looked charming in a silk voile dress, overdress of net lace, tunic skirt, blouse of cross-over, effect, white mauve ribbon belt, streamers in V-shape over left hip caught at the knee with horse shoe and pale pink roses, finished with pearls and orange blossoms. She wore a white hat with pink roses to harmonise. The bridesmaid also carried a bouquet of white flowers and asparagus ferns, the gift of the bride. Mr. Charles Shum, brother of the bride groom, acted as best man. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold photo pendant and chain; to thee bridesmaid a handsome gold brooch, and to the best man a gold watch and chain pendant. The marriage ceremony took place in the drawing-room, which was prettily decorated for the occasion by the lady friends of the bride. An arch was arranged, bearing the motto "God Bless the Union" with a white wedding bell in the centre, under which the happy couple were rested. After the ceremony the wedding party adjourned for the wedding breakfast. On the centre of the table was a three-tier wedding cake. The usual toasts were honoured, and responded to. Speeches were made by the Rev. gentleman, Cr. Lotz, Mr. F. Richter, Mr. W. Muller, and others. The bride's travelling dress was of a navy blue poplin, coat and skirt. The happy couple will spend the honey moon at Southport and in New South Wales. On their return they will take up their residence at Perseverance, where the bridegroom is engaged at a sawmill."

Miss May Brennan (the bride's sister), who wore a frock of white chiffon voile, inserted with lace, and a broad-leafed Leghorn hat, sashed with pink ribbon and set with pink roses. She carried a bouquet of pink asters and dahlias tied with pink ribbons. Mr. Francis McErlean attended his brother as best man. After the ceremony the wedding party was entertained at the residence of Mrs. T. Pobar, at Willowburn, and on leaving later for Brisbane Mrs. McErlean wore a costume of navy blue crepe de Cline and a white hat. "
