  • He immigrated on 31 July 1862 to Moreton Bay with John Frederick Wecker and Rosina Gottliebin Walter. Frederick, 30 and Gottlebin 25 travelled on the La Rochelle with their 11 year old nephew Michael and a Caroline Wecker from Wurtenberg.
  • At the age of 26 years, Michael Johann Wecker married Emma Amelia Kohler, daughter of August Kohler and Wilhelmine (Minnie) Rosentreter, on 28 July 1877 in Brisbane, Queensland.
  • On 10 April 1878,Michael Johann Wecker's son, Unamed Wecker was buried in Drayton & Toowoomba Cemetery, Queensland.

Wecker was 22 years of age, a labourer, residing with his parents at Djuan. Deceased and a brother were splitting fencing material, when a large log fell on him, killing him instantly.

He was an insurance clerk. His father Michael was listed as his next of kin and lived at Yeulba. He was 31 years old, single and enlisted as a Private in the 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance. He embarked from Brisbane, Queensland, on board HMAT A30 Borda on 15 December 1914 and returned to Australia 4 October 1918 after serving in Egypt and Gibralter.
  • Michael Johann Wecker died on 20 March 1935 in Elliott Street, Woolloongabba. The Courier Mail reported on 22 March 1935 - "MISSING TWO DAYS
    Old Man Found Dead in Bathroom
    Michael John Wecker (84), who was last seen by neighbours on Tuesday morning, was found dead yesterday in the bathroom of his home at Elliott Street, off Park Road, Woolloongabba. Wecker, who had lived by himself for some years, had been in indifferent health for several months. Earlier in the week he had complained to neighbours of a severe pain around his heart, and had declared his intention of getting medical aid. It was not until yesterday that residents in the vicinity recalled that the old man had not been seen about for a day or two. Becoming anxious they notified Mr. H. Cavell, an ambulance bearer, who lives in the same street. Mr. Cavell found Wecker dead on the floor of the bathroom. Death had apparently taken place about two days previously. Wecker, who was of German descent, had resided in the district for about 70 years. He was a married man with a family of 15 children. Of the family seven are living, the oldest being 60 years of age."
