  • Joseph William Whitehouse was born in 1825 in England.
  • On 19 August 1850 Joseph was transported to Van Dieman's Land (Tasmania) on the Rodney after having been convicted in the Warwick Borough of Birmingham Quarter Sessions. He was sentenced for seven years for stealing 5 ducks, 3 rabbits and 10 fowl. The ship arrived in the Colony on 19 April 1851.
