All the children were born at Lanark/Cutler. Living with the familly were two servants.

  • Elizabeth Hope immigrated between 1887 and 1889 to New South Wales with Jane Gilchrist and James Hope. They may have arrived as unassisted passengers on the Lusitania. After spending sometime in the Yass District they moved to Guyra where Abigail was born and then in the early 1890's they moved to Queensland.

  • At the age of 23 years, 5 months and 3 days, Ethne May Hope married Douglas Victor Cresswell, son of Frank Cresswell and Maria Best, on 29 December 1926 in Palmeston North, New Zealand.
  • On 16 June 1988,her husband, Douglas Victor Cresswell died in Palmerston North Public Hospital, Palmerston North, New Zealand, at age 91. He was a dairy farmer living at 25 Limbrick Street at the time of his death.
  • Ethne May Hope died on 7 June 1990 in Palmerston North Public Hospital, Palmerston North, New Zealand, at age 86. She was a widow living at 25 Limbrick Street at the time of her death.
