The bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in rich ivory crepe de chine, the neck round, loose sleeves of georgette, the bodice finished in eyelet, embroidery, the skirt panelled in georgette, finished with tassels of silk. A bridal veil, (kindly lent by her aunt, Mrs Smoothy of Laidley) was also worn. Her bouquet of white flowers was tied with white ribbon.Miss Laura Smoothy attended as bridesmaid, wearing a smart frock of lemon coloured crepe de chine, with bindings and swathed sash of pale tinted carmine, the looped panels being finished in the same colour, and her white georgette hat was trimmed with satin posy and grapes. Mr Arthur Hirning supported the bridegroom as best man. The bridegroom presented to the bride a silver chain bag, and to the bridesmaid a gold pendant, and the bride gave the bridegroom a silver shaving outfit. The wedding breakfast was served at the residence of the bride's parents. After the ceremony the bridal party motored to the Ede Studio and were photographed by Mr Seaton. The honeymoon is being spent at Coolangatta. Mrs Sheppard travelling in a navy costume and hat of black with poses of flowers."

Some of the workers were Bill Wilkes, Dan McQuillan, Walter Scott, Fred Lent (a yardman), Tom Eames and Mr Albion, the engine driver. Bill and Rodger McQuillan were bullock drivers for the mill.
