He left his gun at the steps, and afterwards, as he was about to draw it up by the barrel, it went off, and the charge entered his body he. low the chest, killing him instantly. Assist tance was sought, but nothing could be done. Deceased and his father arrived from England some five years ago, and took up their resdence at Goombungee."
  • Charles was buried in Goombungee Cemetery. His grave is unmarked.
