    Around 1873 Johann sponsored his father, Daniel to come to Australia. However, Daniel didn't arrive until 1876 coming with his daughter Catherena and her son Anton. Anton also sponsered his sister Anna and her husband Johann Patava who arrived with their children in 1875.
  • Anna Perina was born on 11 May 1865 in Jarosov, Moravia, Czechoslovakia. She was baptised the same day in Prosec. Her father was listed as Jan Perina, Evangelic joiner, son of Daniel Perina and Anna Novakova, both Evangelics of Jarosov. Her mother was Telka Frydkova (Fridek) widow of deceased farmer Jiri Frydek of Moravia.
  • She was the daughter of Johann Perina and Thecla Friedek Girr.
  • At the age of 20 years, Anna Perina married Herman Friedrich Wilhelm Priebe, son of Johann David Christlieb (Carl) Priebe and Friedricke Kath, in 1886 in Queensland.

  • Anna Perina was born in 1838 in Australia. Its not certain that Anna was the daughter of Daniel and Anna Perina. Certainly she was Anna Perina before her marriage. She named one of her sons Daniel. She and her husband and family were sponsered to immigrate to Australia by Johann Perina - presumably her brother. The two families became poineers of the Crows Nest District living not far apart on the Crows Nest-Cooyar road.
  • She was the daughter of Daniel Perina and Anna Novakova.
  • Anna Perina married Johann Patawa circa 1865.
  • Anna Perina and Johann Patawa immigrated to Moreton Bay on 3 June 1874. Johann aged 30 and Annie 28 travelled on the Zoroaster with their children Johann 5, Friedrich 3 and Wenzel an infant. They arrived in Queensland on 25 Sep 1874. Anna's father Daniel was to travel with them, but he arrived later with his daughter Catherina and Franz Vasina. The surname was spelt PATARA on the immigration index. The Register of Immigrants Index from Toowoomba shows the family was sponsered by John Perina (presumably Ann's brother). According to this index the family consisted of John Patawa 30, Anna Patawa 30, John Patawa 3, and a infant male child of Anna Patawa. The arrival date is shown as 15 December 1873.
  • Anna Perina and Johann Patawa appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1903 living at Douglas. Johann was a farmer. Their two sons Wilhelm and Daniel were listed as labours at Douglas so most likely lived with them. A third son, John and his wife Bertha farmed at Douglas.
  • In 1914,her husband, Johann Patawa died in Queensland.
  • Anna Perina died in 1924 in Queensland.

  • On 10 October 1924 the following article appeared in "The Brisbane Courier" - The demise of Mrs. J. Patava, of Pinelands, takes away another member of the pioneer families of the Crow's Nest district. The deceased, who passed away at the residence of her son, Mr. D. Patava, Pinelands was a native of Austria, and
    came to Australia with her husband over 50 years ago. She took a keen interest in church matters, and was very highly respected. She leaves three sons and a daughter, also 26 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Deceased was 86 yeas of age. The funeral took place to the Douglas Cemetery, Mr. H. S. Cozens,
    of Toowoomba (who is home on leave after nine and a half years' mission work in the Society Islands) conducting the service at the graveside.

  • Anton Perina immigrated on 15 February 1865 to Moreton Bay with Johann Perina and Thecla Friedek Girr. Johann and Tekla and their two children, Anton, and Anna made their way to the Toowoomba area.

  • Anton Perina acquired land on 3 December 1890 in Douglas. His selection of the 100 acres was conditionally approved.
  • He applied to be naturalised in 1897 in Queensland, a requirement before he was able to select land. However, it appears the certificate was never granted.
  • He and Anna Marie Walborges Friedlein appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1903 living at Douglas. Anthony was listed as a farmer. His mother Thelka also lived in the district, perhaps with Anthony and Anna who was listed as Mary Woldorches.
  • On 16 April 1904 the "Courier Mail" reported that a claim had been made in the Small Claims Court against Anton Perina for the amount of 5 pound and 4 shillings by W Lacey for goods sold.
  • Anton Perina again applied for naturalisation on 2 September 1930 in QueenslandHe gave his address as Quay Street Brisbane and his occupation as a contractor currently employed as a contractor building a bridge at Maroon. He stated he was born on 3 June 1862 in Luzia, Austria, that he was Austrian and that his father was an Austrian named John Perina. His mothers nationality was Czechoslovakian. He stated he had arrived in Brisbane from Hamburg on on unknown ship in 1865. Since his arrival in Queensland he resided for 50 years in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs and 15 in Brisbane. His wife's name was Anna Walpoorgas Perina and she had been born in Ipswich. She currently resided at Quay Street, Bulimba and ws 62 years old.
    He had 8 children:-

    Isabella Ruth, 40, born Douglas, residing at Maroon;
    Alice Maud, 38, born Toowoomba, living at Ipswich;
    Anton John, 36, born Douglas, living at Allora;

    Eric Alphonse, 31, born Toowoomba, present whereabouts not known;
    Liddie Leslie Kate, 28, born Toowoomba, living in Brisbane and
    Ruby Walpurgis, 26, born Toowoomba, living in Brisbane.
    Anton had always believed that he had been naturalised. A police report from Toowoomba dated 1918, state that Anton had been Naturalised 25 years before. He had reapplied in order to obtain the old age pension as he had injured his back.
  • On 10 December 1944,his wife, Anna Marie Walborges Friedlein died in Brisbane, Queensland. She lived at 51 Quay Street, Bulimba at the time of her death.
  • Anton Perina and Ruby Walgorges Perina appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1949 living at the Division of Bowman. Her parents lived with her in a small house she had purchased, and later extended by Anton.
  • Anton Perina died on 22 October 1949 in 51 Quay Street, Bulimba, Brisbane, Queensland, at age 87. His cause of death was cardiac failure and senility.
  • Anton was cremated on 24 October 1949 in Mt Thompson Crematorium.

  • He was the son of Katerina Perina.
  • Antonin Perina immigrated on 27 March 1876 to Moreton Bay with Katerina Perina and Daniel Perina. They travelled firstly from Bohemia to London, leaving on 27 nov 1875, and were listed as Daniel Perina 61, Katerina Perina 26, Anton Perina 2, and Franz Vasina 23. They then travelled on the Western Monarch from London. (Franz was listed as Franz Parina husband of Catherina Parina, a remittance passenger. However they were only married in Dec 1876). Catherina and Daniel were sponsered by John Perina. According to the Register of Immigrants of Toowoomba John sponsered:- Perina - (male child of Katherine,2, date of arrival 15 June 1875; Perina Daniel, 50, doa 15 June 1875; Perina Daniel, 55, doa 15 December 1873 and Perina Katherina, 24, 15 June 1975. Perhaps Daniel intended to come on an earlier ship but then waited for Catherina.
    Johann most likely came to Australia around 1870, certainly before 1873.
    Daniel and Catherina most likely made their way to the Toowoomba area as soon as they left the ship.
  • At the age of 25 years, 10 months and 21 days, Antonin Perina married Julianna Puschmann, daughter of Friedrich Puschmann and Julianna Tabel, on 23 February 1898 in Queensland.
  • In November 1900 Antonin Perina and Julianna Puschmann lived in the Cabarlah district.Their infant daughter Marie Elizabeth was buried in the Cabarlah cemetery on 30 November 1900.
  • In 1901 Antonin Perina lived in Djuan. Antoni was listed on the Crow's Nest Post Office directory as a farmer of Djuan.

  • Antonin Perina died on 18 July 1942 in Queensland at age 70. At the time of his death he was living at 243 James Street, Toowoomba having farmed at "Hillside", Jondaryan before he retired.

  • Eric was the best man at the wedding of Hugh Clifford (Huey) Perina and Frances Doris Berry on 18 December 1937 in St Pauls Church of England, Ipswich; An account of the wedding was published in "The Courier Mail" on Tuesday 21 December 1937. It read:- Perina — Berry ST. Pauls Church of England Ipswich, was chosen on December 18 for the marriage of Miss Francis Doris Berry (youngest daughter of Mrs.W. J. Berry, Park-street, and the late Mr. W. J. Berry) and Mr. Hugh Clifford Perina (youngest son of Mr. H. Perina, Glenmore, Crow's Nest, and the late Mrs. Perina). The Rev. R. S. Massey officiated, and the bride was given away by her brother, Mr. W. J. Berry. She wore an Ivory Chantilly lace over magnolia satin, and the whole of the gown and train was edged with double rouleau loops. A coronet of orange blossoms held her tulle veil, and she carried a shower bouquet. The bride was attended by her sister (Miss Hilda Berry) and Miss Evelyn Morre, wearing daffodil lace over satin, cut in peacock train effect. Their coronets were of fresh flowers, and their blue bouquets were finished with gilded wheat ears. Little Miss Janice Berry, niece of the bride, acted as flower girl. Mr. E. M. Perina (Crow's Nest) was best man and Mr. George Partridge (Gayndah) groomsman. At Whitehouse's Cafe, where the reception was held, the guests were re ceived by. Mrs. W. J. Berry, wearing a princess gown of black suede, georgette and lace, showing touches of gold. Leaving for the honeymoon, which will be a tour of the South Coast, the bride wore Avocado green romaine with French silk mousseline in applique.
