• Percy and his brother Ernie were self taught musicians who often played at local dances. Percy played the violin, guitar and accordian. They performed on Australia's Amatuer Hour - a radio programme of the time. They also appeared on Australian Story. After Ernie's death Percy performed with his cousin Claud Vonhoff.
  
• Percy Allan Vonhoff died on 8 August 2012 at age 86. He died in his home at Plainby.

In 1950 he retired from the Navy with the rank of Captain in the Royal Marines when he was called to the Bar. From 1968 to 1986 he was Deputy Chairman of the Wiltshire Quarter Sessions, recorder of Devizes, and later Recorder at the Crown Court, and finally a Circuit Judge (Western Circuit). He became a Barrister and subsequently a Queen's Councillor.

Desmond was the Deputy Chairman of the Wiltshire Quarter Sessions. Iris wa a widow. Witnesses to the marriage were Michael William Weight Vowden (Desmond's son) and Michael Wigram.
