According to Ellis Isleland records he was 29 years old 5'8" and weighed 158lbs. He had a TigerHead and Tombolone ? (perhaps tattoes). He was aboard the "Homeric" when it docked at Ellis Island on the 18 June 1924, and on 9 July 1924 (as was a George Vowden.)
  • On 27 August 1944 their son Gerald Bertram was drowned when his ship was sunk by friendly fire by the RAF. Jsoeph and Alice were living at Shirley, Southampton at the time.
