  • At the age of 49 years, Emma Dalley married John Ellis in 1889 in Guyong, New South Wales.
  • Emma Dalley died on 10 September 1923 in Byng, New South Wales, at age 83. She died from the effects of a cerebral haemorrhage, had been in the colony 80? years, married twice, first at age 15 to William Bennett then at 55 to John Ellis. The marriage was solemnised at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Toowoomba, on September 1, 1882, the celebrant being the late Rev. Father T. O'connell. Members of the family present at the jubilee celebrations were : Sister M. Oliver (All Hallows Convent), Sister M. Monica (Rosalie Convent), and Sister M. Gerald (All Hallows' Con- vent, Sisters of Mercy), Mrs. M. Kelly (Birnam), Mrs. C. Cooke (Mitchell), Mrs. D. Wright (Toowoomba), Mrs. J. McMahon (Toowoomba), married daughters; Messrs. E. J. Dalton (Mitchell), Michael Dalton (Milton), Bernard Dalton (Southport), and Thomas Dalton (Taylor's Siding), sons. On the anniversary morning Mass was celebrated at Mr. and Mrs. Dalton's home by the Rev. Father T. McCormack (Roma), a relative of the family, A banquet was held, over which the Rev. Father Hayes (Crow's Nest) presided."
