    "DEETH- COCKBURN.
A picturesque wedding was solemnised in the Presbyterian Church, Killarney, on March 30, when Mr. Jack Deeth (second son of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Deeth, Hampton, Toowoomba) was married to Miss Queenie Doris Cockburn (eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Cockburn, Killarney). Rev. M. M'Dermant officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a sleeveless frock of ivory taffeta and mariette, the taffeta bodice being tight-fitting, with a skirt of mariette, on which were four tiers of scalloped taffeta flounces. The veil was made in a cap effect, with silver tissue and three rows of orange blossoms encircling the head, and finished at the nape of neck with silver leaves. The bride carried a sheaf of white tuberoses, carnations, and maidenhair fern, tied with tulle, and long satin streamers. Master Maxwell Cockburn (brother of the bride) acted as a page boy and carried the veil. He was dressed in cream fugi silk. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Esme Cockburn, and Miss Joy Deeth (sister of the bridegroom), and they wore pale pink sleeveless frocks of georgette and mariette respectively, scalloped at the hem and finished with posies. Their hats were of pale pink crinoline trimmed with flowers, and they carried bouquets of pink and white dahlias and Asparagus plumosus. Mr. Clement Deeth attended his brother as best man, and Mr. Noel Cockburn as groomsman. The church had been decorated with white flowers, which were part of the Easter decorations, and above the bridal couple was suspended a large white bell. Miss Vera Wride presided at the organ, and during the signing of the register Miss Gwen Wride rendered a vocal solo. The reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, where the guests, intimate friends of the bride and bridegroom, were entertained. The decorations were in blue and gold, and the three-tier wedding cake was ornamented with a spray of flowers used by the bride's parents' 23 years ago. Subsequently Mr. and Mrs. Deeth left by car for Warwick, en route to Toowoomba, the bride wearing a maroon crepe de Chine jumper frock and a cream fancy straw hat, with an over- lap of net on the brim, trimmed with gold ribbon and French flowers. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a xylonite toilet set. The bridesmaids received handbags, and the little page boy a silver cup engraved with his name."
