Hudson and the late Mr. W. G. Hayden, Crow's Nest, was solem nised at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, Crow's Nest. The bridegroom has been on active service in New Guinea for the past two years, and the wedding plans were finalised when he was home on leave recently. The reception was held at the country home of the bride's parents, the honeymoon being spent at Southport."

Deceased was born at Thurles, Ireland, and came to Queensland by the sailing ship, Golden Dream, arriving in Moreton Bay in June, 1863. Soon after he went to the Darling Downs, and was engaged by Messrs. Gore Bros. at Yandilla Station. In May, 1871, he married Miss Margaret Peters. For a time he made his home at Gowrie, but afterwards moved to Crow's Nest, where he had resided for over 40 years. He reared a family of six sons and two daughters, whilst two daughters died in infancy. The sons are Messrs. Patrick Hayden, James Hayden, Thomas Hayden (Tingoora), Michael Hayden (Brisbane), and Timothy Hayden (Roma), and the daughters are Mrs. Wm. Gleeson and Mrs. F. Littleton (both of Crow's Nest). .
