  • On 22 July 1919,Arthur Charles Lawton's mother, Mary Preston died in Queensland. Her obituary read" The death occurred last week of Mrs. Lawton, sen., an old and very highly respected resident of Crow's Nest, at the advanced age of 75 years. The deceased, whose son Charles recently returned from the war, and who has been unconscious for the last three weeks owing to an accident while riding, was seized with a paralytic stroke 10 days ago, and did not recover consciousness! Mrs. Lawton leaves a family of three sons and three daughters."
