Each will be presented with a handsome wristlet watch from the residents of Ravensbourne, and a silver mounted pocket wallet, suitably inscribed, from the Crow's Nest Patriotic Commit- tee. Several other Ravensbourne lads in- tend to volunteer."
  
• He enlisted in the AIF on 27 August 1915 in Enoggera. His service number was 1668 and he gave his next of kin as his father Edward. He was a farmer of Ravensbourne. He was wounded in action in France, became a driver and was wounded again. He was discharged on 6 Aug 1919.
